Who StayPut is for

StayPut is a preview tool for adults planning a room they rent or live in. It is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13. Do not create an account or upload photos for a child. A photo of a nursery, a school, or a family room does not make this a children’s service, and these terms do not claim that every such photo is covered by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

If a photo shows an identifiable minor, you may upload it only if you are the adult who has permission to do so. Prefer a crop that does not identify a child. You are responsible for that choice.

Your photos

You must own each photo you upload, or have permission from the person who does. Do not upload a photo of someone else’s home, a private listing, or a person when you do not have the right to send it to StayPut and to xAI for a preview.

You give StayPut a limited permission to process that photo only to make the preview you asked for, to store a saved room you chose to keep, and to delete it when you remove the room or the account. StayPut does not receive a license to advertise with your photos.

What you may not upload or ask for

Do not use StayPut for anything unlawful. That includes sexual images of minors, images you have no right to use, harassment, or an attempt to identify a private person who did not agree. Do not try to break the service, scrape it, or share an account in order to get around a limit.

AI previews are not the room

Restyle and Try It send photos to xAI and show a generated image. The result can move a window, change a color, or invent an object. It is not a promise that a product will fit, match, or look like the picture after you buy it. Measurements in a preview are not a substitute for measuring the room.

Renters, leases, and the building

StayPut does not visit the unit, review your lease, or approve a change. You are responsible for landlord rules, building rules, and whether a change is allowed. Do not drill, paint, move a wall, or change plumbing or wiring because a preview showed it. StayPut does not check structural safety, fire egress, or whether furniture blocks a door.

Some links are paid affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Other retailers may pay a commission if you buy after using a StayPut link. A link is not an endorsement that the item fits the room or meets a lease. Orders, shipping, and returns belong to the store. StayPut does not take payment.

How long photos stay

A generated Restyle that you do not save is a private xAI file with a 48-hour expiry. StayPut stops showing that provider file after that and asks the provider to delete it. Saving copies the image into StayPut’s private database as JPEG bytes, not a data URL. That copy stays until you remove the room or delete the account. It is not a permanent xAI file. Each saved After is limited to 800,000 bytes, and an account keeps at most 24 saved rooms. Every xAI file StayPut uploads has an expiry. Try It source photos and previews are not stored as a StayPut photo library. Signing out clears in-memory photos in the browser. The database provider encrypts data at rest with AES-256. Object-storage backups use server-side encryption and, on Neon’s published terms, are kept for 30 days. Instant-restore history is separate and can be 6 hours, 7 days, or 30 days depending on the database plan. StayPut cannot purge that history. Active storage is cleared when the room or account row is deleted.

Deleting the account removes the sign-in, saved rooms, and the provider files StayPut can reach. xAI may keep API inputs and outputs for about 30 days for abuse review. StayPut cannot delete those copies. Turning off response storage is not Zero Data Retention, and Zero Data Retention is not turned on because the temporary file storage StayPut uses would stop working.

If deletion stops partway, the account stays disabled for new Restyle, Try It, and Save work until deletion finishes. StayPut continues a due deletion on a later request. You do not have to return and tap Delete account for that retry. It is not a clock. If the site is idle, the retry waits. You can still tap Delete account to retry immediately, or email morrowstead.co@gmail.com. A deletion that has stopped for review stays stopped until that explicit retry.

Acceptable use

Use StayPut for your own rooms and for products you are considering. Do not upload more than the daily limits, probe the service for weaknesses, or present a preview as a photograph of a real installed room.
