How we pick what to buy
Stayput is a restyle tool, not a store. The buy list is a budget brief for the room you uploaded: textiles, a lamp, storage, a rug — the pieces that change the photo without a renovation.
Each Buy First piece has three lanes: Save (a lower-budget search for the same kind of piece), Best match (the look in the restyle), and Upgrade (a higher-end search). When we find a product that closely matches your room plan, we'll show the actual item, current listed price, and retailer. Not every recommendation has an exact match. If we are not sure it is the same kind of piece, we do not guess: you get an Amazon search for similar items instead. Target, Walmart, and Wayfair are optional extra searches. Wall art may open a BIG Wall Décor collection of similar large-format art — still not the exact piece in the photo. We never swap in an affiliate product just to earn a commission.
Otherwise there is no fake storefront: you pick the listing that fits your size and price that day. That is the purchasing decision.
“See these in your room” places those kinds of store pieces into your photo. Walls, windows, doors, and floor stay put. If the architecture drifts, we say so — trust the list over the sketch.
We do not take payment. Store orders, shipping, and returns are with that retailer. StayPut recommendations are design suggestions and budget estimates. Shopping links may open retailer searches or collections for similar items. Some shopping links are affiliate links. StayPut may earn from qualifying purchases. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. That never changes which products Stayput recommends.
